Winder-Barrow Community Theatre is proud to announce the next show at the Winder Cultural Arts Center Theater. “Wedding Belles” by Alan Bailey and Ronnie Claire Edwards will open on Friday, September 26th and run for two weekends. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 pm, and the Sunday matinees are at 3:00 pm. Tickets are only $10 per person and are now available at both ticket locations. You can purchase tickets by phone at the Winder Customer Care Center (770-867-3106) by going to “Event Ticket Sales” which is found on the first prompt on the voice mail system. Tickets can also be purchased in person at Pam Veader’s State Farm Insurance Office at 41 S. Center Street in Winder (770-867-1679). Tickets will also be available at the door 30 minutes prior to each show.

“Wedding Belles” takes place during the war, and four “older” ladies find a young woman at the bus station who has come to meet her young soldier to marry him before he leaves to go to war. The ladies decide to give the young woman the wedding of her dreams, but they have to pull it off in one afternoon before he arrives. Come and see this comedy and how they do it. Cast members include Elinor Hasty, Billie Nye-Muller, Kathy Blevins, Nancy Powell, Asheley McMillan, and Julie Mims.

All of the profit from this show will be used to fund a number of scholarship programs. WBCT provides a scholarship each year to a high school senior who is going into the Fine Arts field in college. Money will also be donated the John Hasty Memorial Band Scholarship fund at Russell Middle School to help fund scholarships for band students to attend special training. WBCT also provides scholarships to students from the Boys and Girls Club each summer so they can attend Drama Camp without cost.
