Donation to CASA Made by WBCT

Published on: November 4, 2014

Winder-Barrow Community Theatre President, Tery Overbey, recently presented a check to Annette Bates for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children). This money represented a portion of the income from the WBCT production of "13 Past Midnight" and included donations of over $100 that were given by audience members at the play.

Piedmont CASA was formed in 2000 by Juvenile Court Judge Kevin Guidry and community members. The mission for the organization is to train community members to advocate for foster children in Barrow, Jackson, and Banks Counties in Juvenile Court proceedings. Their vision is to serve 100% of the children who need an advocate.

Local foster children need someone in their lives speaking to their best interest. They are neglected and/or abused by their parents/caregivers, moved from place to place without any stability in their lives, and often behind in school. Your presence as a volunteer in their lives could be their lifeline. For more information about CASA, please see their website at www.piedmontcasa.org.

Winder-Barrow Community Theatre is proud to support local nonprofit groups with a continuing program of donating a portion of the proceeds of each play the group performs. For more information about WBCT and upcoming shows, please see this website.
