Winder-Barrow Community Theatre is excited to announce their annual Christmas show which will be presented the first weekend in December. “Santa Lives! Yes Virginia, There is a Santa Claus” by R. Eugene Jackson will open on Friday, December 5th, at 7:30 pm at the Winder Cultural Arts Center. The show will run on Saturday the 6th at 7:30 p.m. and also on Sunday the 7th at 3:00 pm. This play was inspired by the 1897 editorial “Is There a Santa Claus?” by Francis Church. The cast is composed of children and adults ages 5 and up, and it is a wonderful family play. Make your plans to attend and get into the Christmas spirit. After the show you will be invited to a reception to meet the cast and Santa Claus. Be sure to bring your camera for a picture with Santa.

Tickets are now on sale at the Winder Customer Care Center (770-867-3106 prompt 1 for Event Ticket Sales) or at Pam Veader’s State Farm Insurance Office at 41 S. Center Street in Winder (770-867-1679). Children to age 12 are only $5.00 each. Ages 13 and older are $10.00 each. Be sure to buy your tickets in advance to guarantee a seat since the Christmas shows normally have large crowds.

Auditions for the first show of the 2015 Season will be held on December 8th & 9th at 7:00 pm at the Winder Cultural Arts Center theater. “Smoke on the Mountain” is a musical comedy that takes place in a church, and the cast members will be singing and/or playing instruments. Please see the website at www.winderbarrowtheatre.org and click on the “audition” tab for more information about each character. Audition materials are available at Pam Veader’s office at 41 S. Center Street in Winder or by e-mail to pamveader@windstream.net.

Please bring a current photo to the audition along with any schedule conflicts during the rehearsal period. Rehearsals are normally Monday, Tuesday & Thursday nights starting in January. The show dates are February 27, 28 & March 1, and March 6-8, 2015. If you play a banjo, guitar, string bass or similar instrument, please bring it to the audition and have a song prepared to play.

Season Tickets for the 2015 Main Stage Season are now on sale at both ticket locations. These make great Christmas gifts for the person who has everything. Help support the arts in Barrow County by purchasing Season Tickets. The cost is $40 for seniors (ages 55 and older), students, and teachers. Adults are only $50 for the Season. The Season Ticket includes all four of the Main Stage shows, and also gives you an additional ticket that can be used to attend the summer children’s show, the Christmas show, or to bring a friend to a Main Stage show with you.
