The Winder-Barrow Community Theatre was proud to donate a check for $645 to the Barrow County Food Pantry at the end of the recent production of “Red Velvet Cake War”. With each show that WBCT produces, a nonprofit group in the county is chosen as the community service recipient for a donation from the proceeds of that show. Since “Red Velvet Cake War” was about a cooking contest, the cast decided that they would cook red velvet food items such as cupcakes and cookies to sell in the concession stand during each intermission. All of the money raised by selling these special items was donated to the Food Pantry along with generous donations from the audience members. A large box of canned food items was also donated by the cast and audience members.
